Morning Mari

Normally I don't pick up calls from unknown numbers but last Monday, for some reason I did. The caller invited me to Las Mañanas del 5, a morning show. The jitters started immediately. I was to talk about Spring/Summer trends for about eight minutes. Seemed simple enough. The next day I went to Da'lila Boutique to choose the clothes, they seriously have everything I had in mind: pastels, lace, denim, amazing swimsuits, tribal and floral prints, sandals, wedges.. just every summer essential!

The day of the show came and I was a nervous mess. I woke up, did my hair and make-up and drank some tea. bad idea! Having caffeinated drinks when you're already jittery.. not good. After what seemed like the longest car ride ever, my mother and I arrived to the channel and then to the set. It was such a cool experience to get a glimpse of how everything works behind camera. By this time I was basically shaking, had a dry mouth and couldn't put two sentences together. Luckily everyone was super nice, super professional and when my time came up.. I actually had such a great time! I was on for eight minutes but it felt like two seconds, it was awesome! I wish I had good quality pictures to show you but I wasn't allowed to bring my camera, but they uploaded the video of the whole show! I come up around the 59 minute mark. Hope you like it!

Normalmente no contesto llamadas de números desconocidos, pero el lunes pasado, por alguna razón, contesté. La persona que llamaba me invitó a Las Mañanas del 5, un programa matutino del Canal 5. Los nervios comenzaron inmediatamente. Tenía que hablar de las tendencias de primavera / verano durante unos ocho minutos. Parecía bastante simple. Al día siguiente fui a Da'lila Boutique para elegir la ropa que iba a mostrar, en verdad tienen todo lo que tenía en mente: pasteles, encajes, denim, trajes de baño increíbles, estampados tribales y florales, sandalias, cuñas .. todo lo esencial para el verano!

El día del show llegó y yo era un desastre nervioso. Me desperté, me peine y maquillaje y bebí un poco de té. mala idea! Tomar bebidas con cafeína cuando ya estás nerviosa .. no es bueno. Tras lo que pareció el trayecto en carro mas largo del mundo, mi madre y yo llegamos al canal y luego al set. Fue una experiencia super cool poder ver cómo funciona todo detrás de la cámara. En ese momento estaba básicamente temblando, tenía la boca seca y no podía decir dos frases seguidas. Por suerte todo el mundo fue muy agradable, super profesional y cuando mi turno se acercó .. en realidad, lo pase de lo mejor! Estuve al aire ocho minutos, pero se sintió como dos segundos, fue increíble! Me gustaría tener fotos de buena calidad para enseñarles, pero no se me permitió entrar con mi cámara, por suerte ellos subieron el vídeo de todo el programa!
